Signatures as Annotations
Applying a signature as an annotation on a Document can be a great way to represent approvals for documentation. This can be accomplished using a combination of the built-in signature interface and the Apply Annotations workflow action.
Capturing Signature
Signatures can be captured using one of several methods. You can use Add-Ins, Workflow Actions or E-forms to collect signatures. The details will not be covered here (see Related Articles section below) but once you get a signature captured into the Record you can use it in annotations, merge documents and more.
Applying the Signature as an Annotation
You can use the “Apply Annotations to Document” action to add the signature to the document. Choose the “Image / Stamp” annotation type. Then set the “Stamp” selection to “Find Stamp by Name.” Then use a bracketed version of the field which has the signature saved in “Stamp Name.” These settings will find the stamp in the Record and apply it as an annotation stamp onto the document.
